Public Law

Public law enables an individual or corporate entity to challenge unlawful or irrational decisions and policies of government and other public bodies. The most common challenge is by way of judicial review, although there is also scope to pursue public law issues through declarations in claims for damages, inquest verdicts, Ombudsman and complaints schemes and public inquiries.

Our particular expertise relates to legal challenges to the operation of the Criminal Justice System. We have vast experience in seeking judicial review against government departments, particularly the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. We also frequently seek review of police and other investigative agencies.

We deal with such cases speedily and robustly, meaning that many cases are resolved at pre-action stage.
