Hickman & Rose’s Daniel Machover and Helen Stone, together with barrister colleagues Tom Stoate of Garden Court Chambers and Adam Straw of Doughty Street Chambers have written the Legal Action Group’s update on how Covid-19 is impacting inquests and inquiries.
They write that the health crisis has had a “significant impact” on the inquest system. They also analyse those aspects of the Coronavirus Act (CvA) 2020 with relevance to inquest law and the Chief Coroner’s four guidance notes (nos 34–37) issued sinince 26 March 2020, designed to assist coroners in continuing to carry out their duties lawfully.
