Civil litigation associate Helen Stone has been named as the Times newspaper’s ‘Lawyer of the Week’ for her work representing the charity INQUEST at the Supreme Court.
Helen was handed the prestigious accolade after she persuaded the Supreme Court that if the standard of proof required for a ruling of suicide at an inquest is the civil rather than the criminal level, then unlawful killing conclusions should also be reached on the balance of probabilities.
The ruling is certain to have wide ranging and significant consequences for future inquests.
