Hickman & Rose recognised as leading law firm in Legal 500

Hickman & Rose is pleased to have been recognised by the Legal 500 directory as one of the country’s leading law firms, with new top-ranking accolades for many of the firm’s partners.

Jenny Wiltshire, Ben Rose, Daniel Machover, Kate Maynard, Ross Dixon and Andrew Katzen are this year all ranked as ‘leading individuals’ in their respective legal fields – and some in more than one.

In serious and general crime, practice head and ‘leading individual’ Jenny Wiltshire is described as ‘very well connected and very knowledgeable’, while ‘leading individual’ Ben Rose has ‘a never-say-die approach to every problem, no matter how challenging’. Peter Csemiczky is praised as ‘outstanding’ for his success protecting clients from charge. Aileen Colhoun ‘brings common sense and great judgement to everything she touches.’ The department maintains is top Tier One ranking.

In corporate and financial crime, the firm is praised as having ‘unrivalled strength in high-profile SFO investigations.’ This year Andrew Katzen joins the Ross Dixon and Ben Rose as a ‘leading individual’ working in Fraud and White Collar crime. Andrew is described as ‘calm, sensible and thoroughly knowledgeable’; Ross is ‘enormously experienced’ and has ‘a calm, reassuring presence’; Ben is ‘hugely knowledgeable and highly respected’.

New partners Emily Sheils, Christopher Houssemayne du Boulay and Claire Wallace are a ‘standout trio’ and all are this year elevated to ‘recommended lawyers’.

In human rights and civil liberties, the firm has as ‘a very talented team, from top to bottom, of clever, assiduous lawyers’. Daniel Machover retains his ‘leading individual’ status for work in human rights and civil liberties, and is this year joined as such by Kate Maynard. Recommended lawyer Stefano Ruis ‘is superb. Calm, intelligent, personable, thoughtful about his cases, an excellent tactician and lawyer.’

Daniel, Stefano and Kate are all praised for their work in administrative and public law, with Helen Stone ranked as a ‘rising star’.

The firm’s growth in both professional discipline and financial service regulatory work is recognised by Ross Dixon and Christopher Houssemayne du Boulay this year joining Andrew Katzen and Claire Wallace as ‘recommended lawyers’ in professional discipline, and Claire Wallace and Ross Dixon joining Andrew Katzen and Ben Rose as ‘recommended lawyers’ in financial service regulation.
