Jenny Wiltshire calls for standard university rules for student sexual misconduct claims

Head of Serious and General Crime Jenny Wiltshire has been quoted in the Telegraph calling for all the UK’s universities to adopt a standard investigatory procedure for allegations of student sexual misconduct.
Jenny’s comments are based on Hickman & Rose research which shows huge differences in the way each of our top universities investigate sexual allegations
“The level of legal protection for all parties, the independence of an investigation, the extent to which there is due process – all these things vary across the country”, Jenny explained.
“These disparities are causing unnecessary confusion for both complainants and suspects for whom achieving justice can appear to be influenced by luck as much as anything else.”
