Kate Goold rejoins Hickman & Rose as partner

1 Apr 2025

Hickman & Rose is delighted to announce that Kate Goold has rejoined the firm as a partner in its market-leading Serious and General Crime team.

Kate originally joined Hickman & Rose in 1996. After spending the past 25 years at another leading London law firm, she has returned to where her illustrious career began.

Recognised as one of the finest criminal defence solicitors of her generation, Kate is particularly well known for her pioneering work in violent and sexual crime; university misconduct matters; extradition; and in acting for High Net Worth and high-profile individuals facing all manner of potentially reputationally-ruinous allegations.

Kate joins Jenny Wiltshire, Peter Csemiczky, Ben Rose, and the newly promoted Rose Commander as a partner in the Serious and General Crime team, which now consists of eight expert defence lawyers, all of whom are utterly dedicated on achieving the best possible outcome for their clients.

Head of Serious and General Crime Jenny Wiltshire said: “Kate Goold is widely recognised as one of the best criminal defence solicitors in the UK.

Her decision to come back to Hickman & Rose at this stage in her career testifies, I think, to the growing volume and quality of work our Serious and General Crime department attracts.

That Kate joins us on the same day that Rose Commander becomes a partner is not insignificant.

Both Kate and Rose are strong, accomplished women who have achieved a great deal in their personal and professional lives. I am proud that Hickman & Rose can offer them both a place at the partnership table.”
