Hickman & Rose is one the UK’s leading law firms specialising in inquests and public inquiries.

The firm’s solicitors regularly represent bereaved families at inquests, often when the deaths under investigation involve a state agency such as a police force or prison.  They have also represented other interested persons and witnesses in coroners’ courts across England and Wales. The firm has represented core participants in a wide range of public inquiries: an area of law in which Hickman & Rose has set important new legal ground and has also acted for witnesses called to give evidence at public inquiries.

The team is led by Daniel Machover, who has worked at the forefront of both these areas of law for over 25 years. As well as being the author of a leading textbook on inquest law, Daniel was for ten years the chair of the Board of trustees of the legal charity INQUEST.

Other team members are highly respected and experienced in their fields, having acted in some of the most significant inquests and public inquiries of recent years.
