The firm’s team of expert solicitors regularly represent Interested Persons, including bereaved families, where often the death involves a state agency such as a police force or prison, and witnesses in coroners’ courts across England and Wales.

The firm represents core participants in a wide range of public inquiries and has acted for witnesses called to give evidence at public inquiries.

Hickman & Rose’s inquest and public inquiry team is led by Chambers’ “Star individual” Daniel Machover, who has worked at the forefront of both these areas of law for over 25 years. As well as being the author of a leading textbook on inquest law, Daniel was for ten years the chair of the Board of Trustees of the legal charity INQUEST.

All team members, which include “Band 1” inquest practitioners Helen Stone and Kate Maynard, are highly respected and experienced in their fields, having acted in some of the most significant inquests and public inquiries of recent years.
