On International Women’s Day, Hickman & Rose work to improve women’s working lives in law

On International Women’s Day, Hickman & Rose is proud to support the important work done by Women in Criminal Law to improve the working lives of women in the profession.
This year the firm commits to WICL’s five policy pledges, each of which has been developed to help improve the retention rate of women in our industry.
WICL’s pledges cover common issues faced by women at key stages in their life: fertility; maternity; menopause; parenting and caring responsibilities; and the working practices across the Criminal Justice System that can impact negatively on women.
Following an insightful training session from the menstrual health experts at Over The Bloody Moon, Hickman & Rose recently introduced a menopause policy which aligns with one of WICL’s pledges. The firm is actively developing new policies which will tackle the other WICL pledges.
It is the firm’s hope that developments such as these will help all Hickman & Rose employees thrive professionally, while also balancing personal responsibilities and challenges.
By creating a more inclusive and supportive work environment, Hickman & Rose aim to empower women to succeed at every stage of their career, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
