Ross Dixon joins ABA panel discussion on future of global bribery and  corruption enforcement

Business crime partner Ross Dixon recently spoke on a panel organised by the American Bar Association discussing the future of international bribery and corruption investigations in the UK, US and Europe.

The panel was moderated by former US Attorney Joe Whitley with fellow speakers Sonja Maeder Morvant (Edmond de Rothschild) and Emmanuel Moyne (Bougartchev Moyne Associés).

The discussion followed the founding, earlier this year, of a task force aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), French Parquet National Financier (PNF), and Swiss Office of the Attorney General (OAG), as well as the recent memo from the US Department of Justice setting out its priorities for future FCPA enforcement.

Ross told the panel that closer collaboration with European prosecutors, coupled with a probable scaling back of FCPA cases, may encourage the SFO towards greater participation in international bribery and corruption cases.
