The firm is listed in the top tier of London criminal practices in Legal 500.  Chambers UK, a Client’s Guide to the Legal Profession said of us in 2008, "Crime and human rights are the foundations on which this firm is built" with barristers noting "They do crime and human rights-based criminal law in a very professional way; its a well organised firm which works well for its clients".  Five years on, in 2013, Chambers says "Hickman & Rose's crime practice goes from strength to strength and continues to attract high-quality work".

An independent peer review of our work in December 2006, commissioned by the LSC and carried out by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies graded our criminal work as "excellent" - a level reached by only 3% of the firms reviewed.  Today we continue that tradition in our private client practice as well as for selected publicly funded cases.

Our Police Law work - including deaths in custody - has been described by Chambers UK as "one of the best in the area" and our Human Rights work is also praised as "up there with the best".
