We are committed to ensuring that our website meets high standards of accessibility and usability.

Text Resizing

If you have a general problem with the size of text on websites (ours and others) there are four ways of increasing the size:

  1. Change Operating System Preferences
    You can change settings within Windows or Macintosh operating system to increase the size of text used – this makes all text on your computer larger (not just websites)
  2. Change Browser Preferences
    You can change settings within your browser to increase the default size of text – this has the effect of enlarging the text on all the websites that you visit (provided those websites have been built in an accessible way)

Google Chrome

  1. Click on More (three vertical dots) and select Settings.
  2. In the Settings tab, open theAppearance tab from the left pane.
  3. In the right pane, click the drop-down forFont size. It is set to Medium (Recommended) by default, but feel free to select Large/ Very Large depending on your requirement.
  4. To change font type, click on Customize fonts.Here you can change font type, width, and more.

Microsoft Edge

  1. In the Edge browser, click on the Menuicon (three horizontal dots).
  2. Select Settings from the context menu.
  3. In the left pane, open theAppearance 
  4. Scroll down to the end of the page and locate the Fonts 
  5. Click the drop-down forFont size and select Large or Very Large to increase the text size.

Safari

  1. Click Safari Preferences from the top menu bar.
  2. Choose the Advanced
  3. Check the box next to Accessibilityfor Never use font sizes smaller than and pick a size from the drop-down box. You can try out different sizes and see the changes immediately within Safari. This lets you pick the right one for you.

Web Accessibility Initiative

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Hickman & Rose is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.
