Bartholomew Dalton has written an article for the Solicitors Journal in which he analyses the changes to police bail introduced by the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
As well as clearly setting out the updated rules on bail and RUI, Bartholomew argues that “the recent changes to the bail system make it likely that more people will be granted bail (as against RUI); and they will be kept on bail for much longer”.
