The Court of Appeal hearing into the appeals against convictions of traders Tom Hayes and Carlo Palombo has been listed as one of ‘biggest corporate crime cases to watch in 2024’ by Law360.
Tom and Carlo have spent years protesting their innocence of crimes related to separate allegations in relation to LIBOR and EURIBOR rates. Last year the CCRC referred to both men’s cases to the Court of Appeal, which has joined them into one matter due to be heard in March this year.
Carlo Palombo is represented at the Court of Appeal by Ben Rose and Tom Bushnell. Ben told Law360: “If their convictions are overturned – as I very much hope they will be – then this decision will almost certainly lead to other applications to the court from similarly mistreated traders“.
