Business Crime partner Ross Dixon has written an article for the Law 360 website on the growing popularity of Account Freezing Orders.
Ross argues that while Unexplained Wealth Orders – sometimes called ‘McMafia Orders’ – have garnered all the publicity, it is the ‘humble’ AFO which is quietly making the difference.
Ross reveals how, in three years since they came into existence a total of 670 AFOs had been granted. This compares to just 15 UWOs in the same period.
