A Kenyan man’s conviction for being part of a gang of pirates which kidnapped British Tourist Judith Tebbutt and murdered her husband David, has been quashed after a decade long legal battle.
Kate Maynard was part of the international legal team which worked on the action designed clear Mr Kololo’s name, working with Fiona Murphy KC and Tim Moloney KC at Doughty Street Chambers and Zoe Bedford at the charity Reprieve.
Kenya’s chief prosecutor conceded that Ali should not have been convicted and the Kenyan High Court quashed his conviction.
