Legal Administrator

We are looking for a confident and hard-working individual with exceptional IT skills and knowledge of the criminal justice system to join our Business Support team as a Legal Administrator. Your role will involve supporting the fee earners to ensure the smooth running of the firm.

Your duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering and directing telephone calls, including new client enquiries 
  • Preparing conference rooms, meeting and greeting clients, and serving refreshments 
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, DX and courier bookings 
  • Printing, scanning, photocopying and filing 
  • Creating electronic and hard-copy bundles 
  • Opening new client matters on the case management system and carrying out compliance checks 
  • Entering key dates into diaries 
  • Creating CCTV compilations 
  • Resolving day-to-day IT issues 
  • Providing IT training to other new starters and refresher training on an ad-hoc basis 
  • Data entry 
  • Archiving 
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks supporting caseworker

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of, or experience in, the criminal justice system would be an advantage. 
  • Excellent telephone manner and ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • Exceptional IT skills, including the ability to convey IT knowledge to other staff 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral 
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload in a busy office environment
