Ross Dixon discusses disclosure and the SFO in Financial Times and Global Investigations Review
11 Apr 2023
Corporate crime partner Ross Dixon has shared his ideas for reforming the rules on evidence disclosure with the Financial Times and Global Investigations Review.
Both publications recently published articles analysing the collapse of the SFO’s G4S prosecution, in which Ross acted for one of the acquitted defendants.
As well as discussing elements of the successful strategy in the case, which took the SFO over ten tears to investigate, Ross suggested the time has come for the defence to be granted greater access to unused material.
He told the FT that “passing to [the defence] the responsibility and burden of identifying what is relevant [would] result in a far greater likelihood of a fair and just outcome”.
