Hickman & Rose panel discussion on Covid-19 featured in the Guardian

1 Jul 2020

Hickman & Rose’s Head of Civil Litigation Daniel Machover, along with Lord Simon Woolley, Dame Una O’Brien, Sir Robert Francis QC and Vic Rayner have been quoted in a Guardian report of a Hickman & Rose webinar on a Covid-19 public inquiry.

Guardian journalist Robert Booth highlights Lord Woolley’s point that a public inquiry into the pandemic could prove “a once in a generation chance to transform racial inequality” in Britain.

The article quotes Daniel Machover being pessimistic about such an inquiry’s prospects. Daniel is quoted telling the webinar that the “government appears increasingly resistant to a statutory inquiry”.
